Wing Parade College Green
The weather was fine for the Cadets and Staff of Bristol and Gloucestershire Wing on their annual parade, which this year took place in Bristol on Sunday 6th June at College Green. Many dignitaries were there including Sqn Ldr “Johnny” Johnson RAF(Ret) of the “Dambusters” to see a variety of displays that were laid on, including the region climbing wall. After an inspection by the invited guests, a march past to the music from the joint wing band assisted the parade. The salute was taken by the Lord Lieutenant of Bristol, and Air Marshall Sir “Dusty” Miller KBE, after which a service took place in the Cathedral. Besides the parade, the day was in conjunction with the commemoration of the start of WWI, squadrons researched a story of a local serviceman from their area which was then displayed in the Cathedral. During the service the cadet ensemble performed music, also carried out readings.
