On Wednesday 12 December 2018, 2152 (Downend) Detached Flight hosted the South West Regional Commandant, Group Captain E Cole MBE MA RAF, to present the 2018 Mike Kendall Trophy to Downend’s Cadet Warrant Officer Charlotte Moss.
The trophy is awarded each year to recognise the “Best” cadet in the four counties of Bristol, Gloucestershire, Devon & Somerset. The winner is selected from the 4 winners of the male & female Best Cadet Awards made in Bristol & Gloucestershire Wing and Devon & Somerset Wing during the year.
Flight Lieutenant Mike Kendall RAF was the Air Cadet Liaison Officer at RAF Locking when it was active as a Communications School for RAF Technicians. The trophy was presented to the Air Training Corps by his widow in recognition of his involvement with the organisation.
