Royal British Legion Awards for 2002 (Kingswood) Squadron
On Saturday May 18th some of the cadets from 2002(Kingswood) Squadron attended a ceremony in Cirencester where they received an award from the Lord Lieutenant of Gloucestershire, Dame Janet Trotter DBE.
The award was for first in the category of Gloucestershire cadets “ATC section” for raising money for the Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal during 2012.
All cadets from the Squadron were involved with selling Poppies up until Remembrance Day on the 11th November which they do every year. This time 2002 Squadron collected over £2000 for the appeal. The cadets were told that the money raised was being put forward to buy a mobility scooter for an injured ex-serviceman.
