Biking Expedition for Duke of Edinburgh Award
Six RAF Air Cadets completed two days’ training to complete a Silver Duke of Edinburgh’s Award expeditions on mountain bikes.
2328 (Bishop’s Cleeve) Squadron can now offer an alternative to foot expeditions thanks to a generous grant providing mountain bikes and trailers. Cycle expeditions also help reduce environmental impact on footpaths.
Five 2328 Squadron cadets and one 649 (Dursley) Squadron cadet took part in the training under two of 2328 Squadron’s qualified staff, on roads and tracks in the Cotswolds in warm conditions. The group kept cool by paddling in a stream!
The cadets next complete a practice before undertaking their qualifying three day Silver Award expedition.
