Spitfire helps 2328 Squadron mark RAF’s 100th anniversary at Bishop’s Cleeve Street Fair
Fly pasts by a Spitfire helped 2328 (Bishop’s Cleeve) Squadron commemorate the Royal Air Force’s 100th anniversary at the Bishop’s Cleeve Street Fair.
2328 Squadron, whose Officer Commanding is part of the Fair’s organising committee, set up specially decorated RAF 100th anniversary stands. Hundreds of people visited the stands staffed by cadets and civilian committee volunteers selling beef burgers, cakes and drinks to raise funds to support activities. The RAF roundel sponge cake sold before our photographer was able to take a picture! Some prospective cadets and staff also came forward.
A WW2 Spitfire brought the Street Fair to a close with several passes over 2328 Squadron’s Headquarters.
At the same time, the community oriented unit helped a farm stage their open day.
Next week 2328 will be out at yet another local event promoting the Royal Air Force Air Cadets.
