Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Scheme Staff Development
On 10th February 5 staff completed an Expedition Assessor Accreditation Scheme (EAAS) course.
This one day course offered within Bristol and Gloucestershire Wing trains our volunteers to assess Duke of Edinburgh’s Bronze and Silver Expeditions. The course candidates came from 2152 (Downend) Detached Flight, 2152 (North Bristol) Squadron, 2467 (Nailsea) Squadron and 2509 (Chipping Sodbury) Squadron.
The course candidates completed some online pre-course training followed by the one day course. All of the candidates were successful and are now qualified DofE expedition assessors. This means that there are now more staff within Bristol and Gloucestershire Wing who can support assessed DofE Expeditions, providing more opportunities for cadets.
Many thanks to Flight Lieutenant Dawn Adam of 2494 (Portishead) Squadron for delivering the course.
There are many opportunities available to our volunteers to gain qualifications that can be used inside and outside of the Royal Air Force Air Cadets.
